As part of the scientific program of the Microbiome Throughout Life Conference, this workshop offers an accessible and practical introduction to the analysis of shotgun metagenomic data. 
Participation is free of charge and available exclusively to registered conference participants. To join, please complete your conference registration and select the workshop during the process. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis

Workshop Instructors

This workshop provides an accessible introduction to the analysis of shotgun metagenomic data. Participants will learn core concepts in microbial community profiling and explore the bioBakery suite of tools for taxonomic and functional analysis. The session will focus primarily on theoretical foundations, methodological considerations, and interpretation of results, complemented by selected practical examples and guided demonstrations. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of reproducible workflows, common pitfalls, and best practices in microbiome research.

* Workshop participants are required to bring a laptop with an installed web browser.
