SESSION CHAIR GUIDELINES

As session chair, your role is to ensure that presentations run according to schedule and to lead the discussion at the end of the session.

  • Please review all presentations in your session ahead of time by consulting the Conference Program
  • Plan to be present in the session room at least 10 minutes before the session beginsKindly invite the speakers to take their designated seats on stage
  • Start the session by briefly introducing yourself, announcing the session title, and asking the audience to be seated without delay
  • Present each speaker and their presentation title exactly as indicated in the Program
  • Barring any last-minute changes, adhere closely to the published timetable, including the speaking order and the allocated start and finish times, to ensure equal time for all speakers
  • Please note that the Q&A and discussion segment is scheduled for the end of the session
  • Maintain a quiet and orderly atmosphere throughout the session
  • At the conclusion, thank the speakers and the audience for their active participation

 

HANDLING UNEXPECTED SITUATIONS

Remain flexible if adjustments are required. Should the session end earlier than expected, you may:
• Prepare and pose additional questions to the speakers.
• Invite further questions from the audience.

If a speaker is absent, continue with the next presentation on the agenda.
